Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an Acute Trust comprising the Bradford Royal Infirmary and St Luke's Hospital sites. The Foundation Trust serves 1 million people in the communities of Bradford, Keighley and surrounding districts, has an annual budget of £230 million, provides 1200 beds and has over 5000 staff. BTHFT is a leading Trust in Carbon Management and is a participant in Phase 4 of the Carbon Trust NHS Carbon Management Program.
Role in the project
As an Acute Trust with a number of operating theatres we have agreed to be the host site for testing the LED technologies in a clinical environment.
Benefits Expected from Participation
We expect there to be eventual energy efficiency benefits in implementing LED lighting technologies into our clinical areas. We are always keen to lead the way in implementing best practise technologies. It may also contribute the allied research outlined above.
