Role in the project
Brandon Medical have worked with Sagentia to develop and improve the medical lighting products for 8 years, first on tungsten halogen designs and then in the development of our HD-LED technique. They also worked with one of the other partners (Zett) to develop one specific application of the HD-LED lighting technology. Brandon is aware of the development of the technology for non-medical applications (by Sagentia) and have working knowledge of these applications.

Brandon expertise lies in the key applications of (a) clinical lighting (b) medical room lighting (c) general room lighting. They are widely acknowledged to be UK experts on "ultra efficient lighting" and speak regularly on the subject on behalf of the Institute of Hospital Engineers (IHEEM).

Their role in the project is to develop the applications and the route to market. The initial target market for application of this technology is healthcare buildings. This market values high (colour) quality and ultra high energy efficiency and is knowledgeable about both performance and benefits. The company is widely networked in the healthcare building and construction industry and with the end users (the NHS hospitals).
